- Occasionally Velma Dewa collaborates with her award winning husband Don Dewa, Zuni Pueblo artisan.
- Starting back in the 1970’s, Velma is known for her traditional mosaic-inlay-channel inlay, work that is synonymous with the Zuni Pueblo.
- Using precise lapidary work, Velma cut the turquoise, mother of pearl, coral, and black onyx in rectangular shapes between sterling bars.
