BOLO TIES
Bolo ties are the official neckwear of Arizona! A bolo (or bola) tie consists of (3) parts: the slide, tips, and leather cord. The leather cords and tips typically are not handmade. *PLEASE NOTE that many Native American Indian hand made items were NOT SIGNED, but may be more desirable and of higher quality than signed pieces. It is also interesting to note that It was often times considered “egotistical’ or “boisterous” among tribal members to sign or hallmark their pieces. Artist’s signatures and “Sterling” stamped on pieces are a relatively recent practice among silversmiths. We will indicate when a piece is clearly “non-Indian” made. The metal is sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy, unless otherwise indicated.
