Ring Sizing – Patrick has the ability to size most rings, with the exception of inlay stone rings. With this in mind, in order to size a turquoise ring, the silversmith must remove the stone before sizing the ring. As a matter of fact, turquoise cannot withstand the heat of a jeweler’s torch. DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY WHERE THEY DON’T FIRST REMOVE THE STONES!

Earring Conversions – Patrick can convert screw-back earrings and clip-on earrings into posts or dangles. As with ring alterations, the stones must come out of the setting. Stones will not withstand the heat used to remove the screw back or clip-on attachments. In conclusion, silversmiths cannot convert inlay earrings.
