Tim Yazzie is a Native American Silversmith who specializes in sterling overlay work, as well as stone inlay work. This type of work is typically associated with the Hopi, although this technique is also performed by other Native American jewelry artists. In examining this plaque, you will see a spirit bear, clouds and lightning, parrot feathers, and other symbolic shapes. The turquoise cabochons are pure, natural, untreated Bisbee Turquoise. Tim can be reached through his website: timyazzie.com
This last sterling silver plaque was created by Tim using classic Fred Harvey era symbols including whirling log, mercury head dime, horses, men, thunderbirds, arrowheads and the zia pattern. This is a one of a kind commissioned plaque which will never be exactly duplicated by Tim. Mr. Yazzie makes an effort to never duplicate a previous work of his art.
